PROFINE

PROFINE is a powdered product made by two-step fermentation of sake lees with koji. Rich in free amino acids and small peptides, it is produced from domestic sake rice. We also made sure to remove alcohol content so the final product fits easily for a wide range of customer needs.

  • 1-1 Health Benefits of Sake Lees

Since ancient times sake less have been used by Japanese people in various traditional foods such as sweet rice-based drink amazake and sake lees miso soup. By-product of sake production, sake lees are abundant in vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. Their contents are rich in protein and dietary fiber which makes products based on sake lees ideal for dietary use.
By efficiently collecting the know-how of sake brewing and the fermentation technology cultivation techniques over many years, it was possible for our company to produce PROFINE original functional material of Yaegaki.

  • 1-2 Two-step Fermentation Process

We produce PROFINE in two steps. First, rice is fermented to produce sake and sake lees. Then, sake lees are fermented once again to induce and concentrate useful ingredient values.

  • 1-3 Composition of PROFINE

Amino acid content
Around 30% of the total composition is free amino acids, showing high amino acid content in general. PROFINE amino acid contetns are even higher than moromi vinegars – widely commercially available amino acid source in Japan.

Leucine

Glutamic acid   
 Involved in signal and energy transmission of the cranial nerves.

Absorption of PROFINE
During clinical trials PROFINE showed better absorption of amino acids into the bloodstream comparing to soy protein.

【Trial outline】
① Labratory mice were orally administrated with either PROFINE or soybean protein.
 ・Dosage
 PROFINE: 1g/kg of body weight
 Soybean protein: same amount of amino acid as in PROFINE
② After blood collection the concentration of free amino acids was measured.

  • 2-1 Endurance Boosting

Mice Swimming Trial
It was confirmed by swimming trial that endurance of mice given PROFINE was significantly improved.

【Trial outline】
① A group of mice was fed daily with PROFINE (1 g/kg body weight) while a control group was administered with water.
② After two weeks swimming trial with mice was performed, mice had to swim in the aquarium with a weight of 7% of their body weight.
Endurance value was measured as time mouse had swimmed 10 seonds before exhaustion.

※ Swimming time of the control group was taken as 100%

Human Group Validation Trial
Crossover human endurance trials were conducted using PROFINE and placebo. In an all-out workout trial using ergometers it was confirmed that taking PROFINE improved maximum exercise time and endurance.

【Trial outline】

・Procedure
① After taking samples and resting for 3 minutes, a warm-up excersices on ergometer were performed for 3 minutes with a 0.8 watt/kg body weight load.
② Every minute the load was increased by 0.36 watt/kg body weight and the time before total exhaustion was measured.

  • 2-2 Skin Conditioning Effect

Skin Texture Improvement
Skin effect trial results showed that in all age groups women were able to experience the skin texture improving effect ater intaking PROFINE.
【Trial outline】
・Subjects: 12 women from 20 to 50 years old
・Samples: PROFINE capsules 250mg/day
・Period: 2 months

  • 2-3 Stress Reducing activity

Mice Trials
It was confirmed that the increase in the concentration of corticosterone, a stress marker, was suppressed in the rats given PROFINE, suggesting that PROFINE has a stress-relieving effect.

【Trial outline】
① Laboratory mice were exposed to stress in a form of resricting movement for 2.5 hours every day for one week. At the same time the mice in PROFINE group were also administreded with Profine™ orally (1 g/kg-body weight), while the “stress” group took water as reference.
② Blood samples were colleceted at the begginig and end of the trial to measure the corticosterone concentration.

Human Trials
In human saliva there are stress markers such as cortisol and chromogranin A that are increased by stress stimulation. Concentrations of both compounds were measured and compared with the placebo intake values to evaluate the anti-stress effect of PROFINE.
Intake of PROFINE showed a clear tendency to suppress the increase in cortisol and chromogranin A whilst subjects performed a set of simple calculation problems, suggesting the stress reducing effect.

【Trial outline】
・Subjects: 15 people
・Samples: PROFINE 900 mg
      Placebo capsules

・Procedure
① Subjects took either Profine™ or placebo, after 30 minute break the saliva samples were collected
② Simple calculation problems (from Uchida-Kraepelin test) were performed for 15 minutes, following with a 5-minute break, then subject’s saliva samples were collected for the second time.
③ After repeating the step ②, saliva samples were collected for the last third time for results evaluation.
