    We work with lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, koji moulds and basidiomycetes; each microorganism displays unique growth and development patterns and biological activities.
    At YAEGAKI Biotechnology, we devote research efforts to uncovering novel substances hidden in microorganisms. We maximize the potential of each microorganism, then develop processes to culture specific microorganisms and produce bioactive compounds and enzymes in an efficient and effective manner.

    Accumulation of excess body fat is the main cause of a number of lifestyle diseases, such as hypertension and diabetes, and its negative effects on health are becoming a major problem of present-day society.
    Of the many approaches that can be taken to improve lipid metabolism, we at YAEGAKI Biotechnology are focusing our investigations on the effects of compounds from microorganisms and fermented foods on inhibiting lipid biosynthesis and promoting lipid metabolism.
    We are also carrying out research using these compounds to improve the intestinal environment and investigate the connection this has with body fat accumulation.
